Hi, I’m Heather, the heart, hands, and happy voice behind Waggin’ Rights.
My journey with dogs started long before this business ever did. I first trained and worked as a dog groomer over 15 years ago after I failed as a Vet Nurse assistant...(I literally cried every time a dog had to be put to sleep), and from the very beginning, I loved the art of grooming, whilst connecting with dogs in a calming way as I always have. I’ve spent my entire life around dogs, from powerful Bull Mastiffs to Collies and Pugs, and now my own beautiful working dogs who are my daily inspiration. Dogs have always been my constant, my calm, and my joy.
After stepping away from grooming for many years, I felt the pull to return to working with these most beautiful creatures. So I jumped back in wholeheartedly, retraining one-on-one with an amazing local groomer, refreshing my skills and learning modern, gentle, fear-aware techniques. The result? A grooming experience that’s calm, quiet, kind, and tailored to each dog as an individual.
Waggin’ Rights was created with one purpose in mind:
